Production Line

Energia maintained the production of space station launch vehicles during the collapse of the Soviet Union, the financial depression of the Russian Federation, the second grounding of the NASA shuttle fleet and the inability of the Russian government to ever pay more than half the costs. Under Yuri Semenov and operational director Nikolai Zelenschikov all flights were safely launched and all commitments kept. It is an accomplishment that has yet to be acknowledged appropriately.
