Hollywood and celebrities saw enormous potential in space-themed projects. NBC and Survivor producer Mark Burnett were the first to ink a deal. Lance Bass of boy band ‘N Sync, seen here with MirCorp’s Gert Weyers, failed to attract the sponsorship necessary to pay for his Soyuz ride. But interest continues to this day and it is a market waiting to be tapped.
